Two nights of snow on the way for Rotherham

WRAP up warm if you’re out and about later on — there’s snow on the way.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice to Rotherham and the rest of Yorkshire.

It is forecasting snow between 4pm today and 8am tomorrow, with temperatures expected to drop to 1 deg C.

Another wave of snowfall is expected overnight on Wednesday before the mercury rises later in the week.

The Met Office said people should be aware some roads and pavements will turn icy, with an increased likelihood of some accidents and injuries.

Rotherham Borough Council said its gritting teams would be out and about this afternoon.
