Two in court over St Ann's pensioner robbery

TWO people have appeared in court after a 70-year-old woman was tied up and robbed in her St Ann's home.

A MAN and a woman have appeared in court after a 70-year-old woman was tied up and robbed in her home.

Andrew Burns (38) of St Leonard’s Lane, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court yesterday, charged with aggravated burglary.

Leanne Helm (35), also of St Leonard’s Lane, attended the same hearing charged with handling stolen goods.

They are charged in relation to a robbery at a house on Spring Street, St Ann's, at 4.40pm last Tuesday, September 5.

Burns was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on October 9.

Helm was released on bail to attend at the same time.

Police said enquiries into the incident were ongoing.
