Two arrested in spray robbery probe

POLICE have arrested man in connection with a robbery which saw two women sprayed in the face with an unknown substance.

The 29-year-old Conisbrough man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after a police appeal for information about the incident at Conisbrough’s Elm Green Lane Old People’s Centre.

He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Two men wearing balaclavas robbed the women, aged 47 and 76, after spraying them in the face with an unknown substance when they answered a knock on the door between 6pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, November 10.

They stole the women’s handbags before running off.
