Two arrested after woman found dead

The teenage boy and man in his 30s were in taken into custody after the body of Ann Gethen (39), was discovered on the sofa at her home on Beever Street on Sunday.

A police spokeswoman said detectives were treating the death as suspicious.

She added: “A man in his late 30s and a male teenager have been arrested in connection with the woman's death.”

Mrs Gethen, who had two sons and a daughter, had agreed to marry her boyfriend only the the day before, it is believed.

Mrs Gethen’s 16-year-old daughter found her mother and attempted unsuccessfully  to resuscitate her, according to reports.

Police were called to the incident at 3.15am and are understood to have found the 15-year-old boy in the street and arrested him without resistance.
