Trio of arson attacks in space of a few hours

THREE arson attacks took place last night across Rotherham.

Fire crews were called out to Herringthorpe, Kimberworth and Greasbrough over a three-hour period.

A fire crew was called to the first incident at 7.45pm yesterday when a pile of rubbish was deliberately ignited on Middle Lane, Herringthorpe.

The crew spent 15 minutes at the scene.

At 9.45pm, fire officers were called out to Droppingwell Road in Kimberworth after a Renault Megane car was set ablaze.

They spent 40 minutes at the scene.

Later, at 10.25pm, three fire crews rushed to an incident on Coach Road, Greasbrough, where deliberately ignited rubbish had set fire to the guttering of an adjoining building.

They spent an hour tackling the blaze.
