Tributes paid to school pupil killed in RTC

TRIBUTES have been paid to much-loved Aston Academy student Joshua Tyler who was killed on Friday night in a road traffic collision.

The 16 year-old’s mother said her “gorgeous baby boy” was so special and older sister Jody Tyler wrote he was “one in a million”, on a tribute page set up on Facebook that had nearly 1,000 members.

Joshua, from Sheffield, sustained fatal injuries in Swallownest on Friday night after the moped he was driving was in collision with a car.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said Joshua was riding a red Peugeot Speedfighter moped along Mansfield Road heading away from Swallownest centre.

The spokeswoman added: “At around 10.20pm, the moped and a blue Citroen C3 were in collision near to the junction with Florence Avenue.

“Joshua sustained fatal injuries.”

Joshua’s mother, Julie Henley-Smith, said on the page set up in memory of her son: “You’ve touched and left leaving so many broken hearts my baby boy xxxxxxxx love you so so dearly, I really really hope you know how special and how much you are really loved and very much missed my baby and that this nightmare was all just a bad dream my boy.

“Kisses to you my gorgeous boy love you billions.”

Sister Jodie Tyler said: “My amazing beautiful gorgeous little brother! You never failed to make us laugh with your comedian jokes and you sarky comments.

“You are one in a million no one could ever take that away or replace what we had.

“I’m so bloody proud of you. And going to do you just as proud, I just wish you was here with us, I'd do anything for it.

“I just hope lado you know how much people care about you. And your playing with your spanners up there laughing at us all for leaving puddles of floods of tears. I love you kiddo millions and you will always be with me.”

Friends and fellow students also left tributes.

Ellis Bailey added: “Josh was one of the happiest lads I ever knew, always smiling every day, never had a bad word to his name.

“He always made people smile, he was always smiling himself, he was always talking to people about what he wanted to do in his future, were he wanted to go. He will be missed by everyone.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 1246 of April 17 2015.
