Transport police seek man over train assault

POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they are seeking in connection with a “serious assault” at on a train.

The “unprovoked” attack left one man with a broken jaw, which required surgery.

The victim was travelling on a Leeds to Sheffield service at 10.20pm on Saturday, April 14 when the attack happened, British Transport Police said..

A spokesman said; "He went to use the onboard toilet, where he spoke with three other men waiting in a queue.

 

"The men then became aggressive, punching the victim to head. When he fell to the ground, the men kicked him multiple times.

"The attackers are thought to have left the service at Moorthorpe, Thurnscoe, Goldthorpe or Bolton-on-Dearne."

British Transport Police officers would like to speak with the man in the CCTV images, as he may have information which could help with the investigation.
