Todwick accident victim dies

A MAN seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision has died more than a week later.

Police said the 29-year-old from Sheffield, who has not yet been named, suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident on the A57 in Todwick on June 14 and died last Wednesday.

The incident involved a black BMW 3 series, a yellow Vauxhall Astra van and a white Vauxhall Astra estate.

The deceased was driving the BMW along the A57 Worksop Road from Todwick towards Worksop when his vehicle was in collision with the Astra estate travelling on the opposite side of the road between Kiveton Lane and Goosecarr Lane.

The Astra van reportedly took evasive action and swerved off the road onto the embankment.

Four other people were taken to hospita after the accident.

Police have appealed for witnesses to call 101 quoting incident number 540 of June 14 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
