THREE men have been arrested following disorder on a Mexborough street on Friday which left a man with a potentially life-changing injury to his hand.

Officers were called to Schofield Street at around 3pm on Friday, following reports of a group of men involved in an altercation.

They also found that a number of cars had been damaged.

A 46-year-old man was taken to hospital with a potentially life-changing injury to his hand, which is thought to have been caused by a bladed weapon.

Det Sgt Rob Cobley, who is investigating the incident, said: “Following extensive enquiries in the area, including house searches and CCTV work, we have arrested three men, aged 28, 25 and 23, on suspicion of assault and threats to kill.

“As the investigation continues we remain keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has any information about the incident and has not yet come forward.”
