Third arrest in Wombwell murder investigation

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a woman killed in her own home have made a third arrest.

Jill Hibberd (73), formerly of Rotherham, was found dead at her home on Roy Kilner Road, Wombwell, at around 7.45am on Thursday, May 31.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died from multiple stab wounds.

A 31-year-old Wombwell woman was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She has since been released under investigation.

A 22-year-old Wakefield man was arrested last week on suspicion of murder, burglary and theft and released under investigation.

Lee Trevor Fueloep (40), of Willow Garth, Wombwell, was charged with murder and burglary on Sunday, June 4. 

Fueloep appeared at Sheffield Crown Court last Thursday (7) and entered a not guilty plea to murder.

He was remanded into custody and is due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on July 9.

A trial has been set for November 26 and is estimated to last up to four weeks.
