Thieves wreak havoc with Tickhill Christmas lights

Festive-looking streets were plunged into darkness this week as vandals wrecked wiring linked to outdoor decorations.

Police say a number of properties in Tickhill have been targeted since Christmas Eve.

All the incidents, which took place in the Wong Lane and Saffron Crescent area, are believed to have happened at night.

A police spokesman said: "A number of properties have had wiring to Christmas decorations, Sky dishes and outside lights damaged, and some sheds have had locks damaged and then property inside them also damaged.

"Some similar offences have also occurred in Rossington.

"Officers are making enquiries to try to identify those responsible for these apparent acts of wanton damage."
