Tenant facing jail after threatening neighbours

Rotherham Borough Council Swallownest tenant Darren Tingle was sentenced to two months jail suspended for 18 months after complaints he had threatened his neighbours in April.

The Arcabus Avenue resident was found guilty at Rotherham County Court of breaching an anti-social behaviour order.

He had also been abusive to council staff working in the customer service centre on Worksop Road, Aston. 

The anti-social behaviour order forbade Tingle from “assaulting, threatening to assault, abusing or otherwise engaging in conduct capable of causing a nuisance or annoyance” to one of his neighbours.

But following a further incident on June 14 involving Tingle and one of his neighbours, the council authority took the decision to take further action for breaching the order.
