Teenager dies after being thrown from car in M18 crash

A TEENAGER was "thrown from a car" and killed in a horrific crash on the M18 motorway.

A TEENAGER was “thrown from a car” and killed in a horrific crash on the M18 motorway.

The 17-year-old was travelling in a black BMW travelling northbound between junction one for Bramley and Doncaster, when it left the carriageway and ended up on its roof at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

The boy, from Oldham, is believed to have been a passenger in the car and was thrown from the car as a result of the collision and collided with a blue Citroen Picasso, travelling in the same direction.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men travelling in the car, aged 18 and 19, suffered minor injuries.

They were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released under investigation.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the BMW before the collision and believe the driver of a blue articulated lorry with a yellow roof may have witnessed the collision.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam footage of the incident, should call police on 101, quoting incident number 989 of May 13.
