Teenage jewellery thief banned from gardens

A TEENAGER has been locked up and hit with an ASBO after stealing £150 of jewellery.

The boy (17), from Edlington was given a 12-month detention training order after admitting burglary.

His two-year ASBO means he is barred from entering any grounds, garden or yard in Doncaster without the owner’s express permission.

Breaching this condition could see him sent back to prison.

Pc Jules Moss, from the Anti-Social Behaviour team, said: “I’m really pleased with this result.

“It sends a clear message out that burglars will be dealt with in a firm manner. The ASBO will make him think twice about his actions and hopefully stop him re offending.”

The boy was sentenced at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court following the burglary at a home on Lockton Way, Conisbrough.
