Teenage boy arrested by detectives investigating Wombwell murder

DETECTIVES investigating the death of a Wombwell woman found stabbed to death in her home have arrested a teenage boy.

Jill Hibberd (73), formerly of Rotherham, was found dead in her home on Roy Kilner Road, Wombwell, at around 7.45am on Thursday, May 31.

On Saturday, the 16-year-old Barnsley boy was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, theft and handling stolen goods.

He is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the murder investigation and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Lee Trevor Fueloep (40) of Willow Garth, Wombwell, was charged with the massage parlour director’s murder and burglary. He remains in custody and will reappear at Sheffield Crown Court later this month.

A 22-year-old man was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of murder, burglary and theft.

A 31-year-old woman from Wombwell was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both have been released under investigation.
