Teen girl dies after being hit by train at Meadowhall

A 16-year-old girl died after being hit by a train at Meadowhall station on Wednesday evening.

Police and paramedics were called at about 8pm but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Her next of kin has been informed.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
