Teen attacked at Brinsworth bus stop

POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was seriously assaulted at a bus stop.

The 17-year-old was knocked unconscious and required surgery on his face after he was punched in the face at the bus stop on Bonet Lane, Brinsworth, at around 2.30pm on July 14.

Police now want to speak to other people that were stood at the bus stop at the time of the incident.

A police spokesman said that the victim was stood waiting for a bus when he was approached by a group of teenage boys.

He said that a 16 or 17-year-old boy—described as being around 5ft 8in tall with a slim build—allegedly punched the victim on the side of his face.

The blow knocked him to the ground and caused a temporary loss of consciousness.

A passing motorist stopped at the scene and transported the victim to Rotherham General Hospital.

The police spokesman added: “Officers have been told that there were several members of the public at the bus-stop when this incident happened and they are keen to speak to anyone who was there or has any information about this case.”
