Tapping and dancing to help raise cancer charity cash

DANCE school students will be tapping and pole-dancing for a good cause next week.

JustDance Studios are holding a sponsored one-hour non-stop danceathon at their Wath studio next Friday, October 14, in aid of Breast Cancer Care’s The Big Pink campaign.

Students and families from across the chain of dance schools, which has branches in Chapeltown, Wombwell and Wath, are busy collecting sponsors and will be taking part in the fund-raising drive.

Last year, JustDance raised £2,828.97 with their poleathon and tapathon, which saw students of all ages tapping away and adults undertaking intense PoleFit exercises for an hour non-stop.

School principal Sheryl Moore: “It’s much harder than it seems and all students soldiered on determined to succeed for The Big Pink.

“They hope to raise even more funds this year and with the help and support of our extended dance family, we have high hopes.”

Doors will open at 5pm and the sponsored dance will start at 6pm.

There will also be stalls with refreshments, games, raffle and a tombola.

Sheryl added: “Everyone is welcome and we would love to see as many people as possible there.

“Members of Swinton Robin Hood FC football team, who are sponsored by JustDance, will also be attending and showing their support in their pink away kit.

“We are taking pride in helping charities such as this and doing their part to help kick cancer.”
