Suspected drink-driver 'rammed' police car

TWO police officers were injured when a suspected drink driver purposely reversed his car into them.

South Yorkshire Police said a police car was “rammed” after following a suspect onto Richards Way, Rawmarsh, on Monday night.

A spokesman said the officer signalled to the driver to pull over but he then reversed his vehicle into the police car.

A 20-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving, drink-driving and an assortment of other motoring offences.
