Surgery closes after failing to attract enough patients

A SHORTAGE of patients has forced the closure of a doctors’ surgery.

Brampton Medical Practice in Brampton Bierlow was intended to take patients living in a news estate of around 1,400 homes due to be built in the Wath area.

NHS Rotherham pays the surgery under a contract based on the number of patients.

Patients received a letter informing them of the changes this week—just days before the surgery is set to close on Friday. They have been given a choice of three other practices.
