Hoyland, who was already on a court order for previous offences, admitted committing the theft on June 7 last year when he appeared before Sheffield magistrates.

He also admitted trespassing a building equipped to steal after illegally entering Mothern Road surgery on May 20 this year and was handed a 20-week jail term, also suspended for a year, for this offence — making a total of 24 weeks.

Hoyland was ordered to pay £372 compensation to the doctor’s surgery.
