Stumbling Titans look for one final push

TITANS coach Justin Burnell says the fight is now on to avoid the Championship wooden spoon after yesterday's defeat at Cornish Pirates.

But the big Welshman is confident that providing his team picks off the good aspects from the 34-5 defeat at the Mennaye Field and ditches the errors then they can avoid the ignominy of bottom spot.

"There was a lot more effort against Pirates, you could see that from the number of line breaks we conceded against a very good side and especially after those games against Leeds and Bedford," he said.

"We were a lot tighter and we have to keep that up now in our final games.

"But we have to stop making those mistakes, we turned the ball over twice for their late first-half try and that killed us. We'll carry on working hard and we'll prepare hard for the next game against Ealing."

The defeat means Rotherham are just one point above basement side Richmond, who beat Nottingham on Saturday to further close the gap.
