Stress-busting classes on offer in Rotherham

IS stress keeping you awake at night? Does the daily grind get you down?

Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) is inviting adults affected by anxiety to join a free stress-busting course.

The six-week scheme, which starts in August, will teach attendees how to control their worries.

Classes are designed for those suffering problems like anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties and panic.

They will take place at The High Street Centre, Rawmarsh on Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm, from August 2 to September 6.

Heather Emblen, RDaSH senior psychological wellbeing practitioner, said: “One in six people suffer from stress or anxiety during their lives.

“This course aims to teach people to understand the triggers of their stress and anxiety and provides them with the support and self-help techniques to be able to manage it.

“We also provide an information pack and activities for people to work through in their own time.”

The course is suitable for those over 18, who are registered with a Rotherham GP practice.

It will not suit those with major alcohol or drug issues or thoughts of self-harm — anyone facing these is urged to contact their GP.
