Spotlight on conflict
STUDENTS helped to mark the centenary of the First World War by teaming up with a veterans’ group to reflect on Rotherham’s involvement in the conflict.
Rotherham Military Community Veterans Centre joined forces with youngsters from Rotherham College and Wingfield Academy for the Reflections of Rotherham project.
It aimed to look at the effect on the town of the men leaving Rotherham for the trenches, its industry and the women and children left behind.
The South Yorkshire Police Band provided music on the night.
