ROTHERHAM business people want lower taxation on small businesses and more government help to encourage investment into the area, according to Michelle Donelan,  Prospective Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Wentworth and Dearne.

They also want a cut in unnecessary paperwork, says Ms Donelan.

The Tory candidate held an informal meeting at The Elton Hotel, Main St, Bramley, to discuss local business concerns.

She said “I was brought up in a family with a small business and I understand the importance of the entrepreneurial spirit.

"At the meeting there was a strong consensus amongst the business community that we need to stimulate and develop Wentworth and Dearne’s economy. Indeed I am very concerned that our local businesses are closing every month– from post offices and pubs to farms & factories. It is time to put a stop to this and kick-start our local economy.”
