Shoppers feel the force for charity

FUND-RAISERS from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away took time out from Star Wars to collect for charity outside a Wath supermarket.

Imperial stormtroopers visited the town’s Tesco to collect cash for the Dreamflight charity, which pays for seriously ill and disabled children to go on the holiday of a lifetime to Florida.

The Empire’s finest troops stopped chasing Luke, Leia and Han Solo, and put aside their baddie image for a day to pose for photographs with shoppers in return for a donation to the charity.

More than £450 was raised during the six-hour collection—and the troops didn’t need to use “the force” once to make people part with their cash.
