School reunion – after 60 years!

FORMER Wath schoolpals have been back in town enjoying a reunion with their classmates nearly 60 years on — with some having travelled thousands of miles from to be there.

Ray (Curly) Wilson returned to Rotherham with his wife Sarah from their home in Canada to meet up with fellow ex-pupils from his Wath Grammar School days.

Ray, who grew up in Foxland Avenue, Swinton, has lived in Gananoque Ontario for over 40 years.

He met up with Pamela Isles (nee Dainty) from Thurnscoe and Ken Charlesworth from Wombwell, who now lives in of Greasbrough.

The group were all classmates for five years in the 1950s.

Ken said he and Ray had kept in contact regularly over the years and Ken, Pam and husband Allan were all long-time friends.
