Rotherham woman who denied sex charges set for trial

A ROTHERHAM woman and five men from Sheffield are set for trial after denying a combined 70 child sex abuse charges.

The 41 accusations against the woman, who cannot be identified, include facilitating prostitution and child sexual offences.

Also appearing were John McLachlan (63), Lee Unwin (26), Kareem Ahmed (30), Bashdar Hamadamin (27) and a fifth man who cannot be named.

They all denied the offences, alleged to have taken place between 2004 and 2011 involving nine victims in the Sheffield area.

The trial of all six defendants at Sheffield Crown Court is due to start next February.
