Rotherham Tories in tidy-up campaign

The Tory pair went litter picking in Ravenfield woods and near the former pit site in Thurcroft.

Miss Donelan, standing in Wentworth and Dearne, said: “I have been amazed by how many beautiful places there are in Wentworth & Dearne but sadly neglected in some areas with litter and this is an excellent use of time to give something back to the community.”

Cllr Donaldson, who hopes to represent Rother Valley, added: “I was out canvassing the Colliery Villas some months ago and the history and the beauty of the properties was spoiled by the excessive amount of rubbish.

“I thank Streetpride for lending us the equipment to rid this area of the rubbish. I would like to see Rotherham Borough Council do more in respect of litter picking and fly tipping in such areas.”
