Rotherham post staff set to strike

SOUTH Yorkshire was braced for a wave of strikes today, with post bus and fire workers set to walk out.

Thousands of postal workers started the first of two one-day national stoppages today with mail centre staff, including the regional base at Brightside in Sheffield, walking out.

Delivery workers in Rotherham, Manvers, Maltby and Dinnington will strike tomorrow as part of the same nationwide action about bullying and changes in working conditions.

Meanwhile, a meeting between bosses at First South Yorkshire and the Unite union representing bus drivers broke down without agreement in the pay row.
