Rotherham fire crews tackle waste fires

FIREFIGHTERS tackled two rubbish fires and one in a tree overnight.

Staff from Rotherham fire station attended Doncaster Road, East Dene, at 8.30pm.

They put out a refuse fire, thought to have been set deliberately, before leaving half an hour later.

One crew from Maltby station was called to Braithwell Road, Maltby, at 11.15pm to tackle another rubbish fire, the cause of which was unknown. Staff left the scene around 15 minutes later.

And one crew from Rotherham station visited Guild Road, East Dene, at 5.15am, when a conifer was alight.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately. Staff left around 15 minutes later.
