Rotherham art exhibition inspired by a G&T

A CHAT over a gin and tonic was the inspiration for a town centre art exhibition which opens up to the public later this month.

The Broomsbury Group will display a diverse collection of photographs, paintings, sculptures and prints at the Coterie Gallery, Riverside Precinct, from June 5 to 24.

There will also be an opening event and the chance to meet the artists on Friday, June 9, from 6pm until 8pm.

Steve Wright, one of the group, said: “The idea came about over an evening of gin and tonic with friends, where we were introduced to a couple of

paintings, and we thought: ‘These should be aired in a public space for others to see and enjoy, things rather developed from there.’”
