Rockers to back Greasbrough war memorial campaign

CAMPAIGNERS set to re-instate a war memorial on a stone plinth at the heart of a village are preparing to rock as part of their fund-raising efforts.

The team behind a drive to see the public display of stone plaque once located in Greasbrough National School, off Church Street, are hosting highly-rated rockers Whizzkid at Greasbrough Working Men’s Club, Church Street, on May 31.

Classic rock hits from the likes of Toto, Thunder, Journey and Whitesnake will all be part of the gig which boasts free entry.

Doors open at 8pm and proceeds from a raffle and Tote draw will be donated to the Greasbrough memorial cause.
