Ringway wins lucrative A57 contract

CONSTRUCTION firm Ringway has won the £14 million contract to deliver the long-awaited A57 improvements.

The highway builders, based in Sussex, will carry out the works between J31 of the M1 and the Todwick crossroads.

Divisional director Kevin Graham said: “Our successful bid is fantastic news and comes after many years of working within Rotherham.

“It will give us the opportunity to use our local workforce and knowledge to really improve this vital part of the South Yorkshire road network.”

The works, on behalf of Rotherham Borough Council, are expected to begin in August with the new road opening by December 2013.
