Rest will have Millers raring to go, promises Steve Evans

MANAGER Steve Evans expects Rotherham United to be refreshed and ready to go when they resume their League Two promotion assault at home to York City on Tuesday.

With no game this weekend due to scheduled opponents Bradford City's involvement in the League Cup final, the Millers can take a welcome breather.

But having lifted themselves back into the automatic promotion frame with a third straight win at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, Evans wants to make sure the preparation is right to pick up where they left off at the Memorial Stadium.

He said: "It is important we give the players some time off because we have done a lot of travelling. They'll get Friday off but they will be doing indoor work on Saturday and then be back at the training ground at Parkgate on Sunday.

"We need to keep our minds on the job and make sure we keep the same standards we've shown in the last three games. York will sit and try and counter-attack us like other teams do at the New York."

Evans, meanwhile, is still trying to reach an agreement with Rochdale to sign midfielder Ashley Grimes.
