Ref Howard turns (half) marathon man

WORLD Cup final referee Howard Webb will lace up his running shoes next weekend in the hope of raising money for a cancer hospital.

Howard, who was the man in the middle when Spain were crowned world champions in 2010, will run the Yorkshire Half Marathon on Sunday, April 10.

Howard said: “I’m both excited and proud to be running the Yorkshire Half Marathon for West Park Hospital Cancer charity this year.

“The charity plays a crucial role in supporting the work of Weston Park Hospital, which provides such a vital service to thousands of people fighting cancer across the region.”

“I'd encourage anyone thinking of taking part in the event to join me and run in support of the cancer charity alongside other supporters of this worthy cause.”
