Records book not a concern for Millers chief

ROTHERHAM United interim manager Paul Warne says the only statistics that concern him are league points as he attempts to salvage something from what's left of the Championship season.

The Millers have gone into the history books for all the wrong reasons so far, having already suffered 29 league defeats and with their goals difference and goals against tally making painful reading.

Warne, though, is noted for his positivity and says he can't afford to dwell on negatives.

"It doesn't make any difference to me," he told the Advertiser. "It's hard enough as it is, looking at the opposition and all the other things. I don't need to depress myself with that and I don't think the players do either.

"We have to try and build them up to fight and scrap for every ball on the pitch against Fulham next week and the same against Sheffield Wednesday and hopefully that will be enough to accumulate some points."

Warne said he wasn't losing sleep over the club's announcement of its future plans, set to be made after the Owls clash on April 4.

It was business as usual on the training ground at Roundwood.

"I'm doing everything I can to keep the group positive and hopefully put on some performances," he said. "This week we've just tried to lick a few wounds and pick them up before two hard home games."

Rotherham will have Darnell Fisher (hamstring) back available next weekend but injuries still continue to cut into defensive resources. Stephen Kelly won't be back working on grass with the squad until Monday and Richard Wood has still to return to full training.
