REACTION: 'We were unplayable at times,' says boss Warne

ROTHERHAM manager Paul Warne praised the way his side came out of the blocks against League One's bottom side Bury, describing them as 'unplayable'.

Goals from David Ball and skipper Lee Frecklington in the opening ten minutes put the Millers in the driving seat, before Will Vaulks rounded off the 3-0 victory with a ferocious effort late in the game.

The win is Rotherham's third win in four and moved them up to eighth in the table, two points off the play-off positions.

And Warne was overjoyed with his side's start to the game.

He said: "I thought we started really well and we pressed high up the pitch.

"We pressed up high, tried to play high energy and tried to win the ball back to give ourselves a chance to score.

"I thought the first 15 minutes we were virtually unplayable

"We obviously got two goals and were on top.

"There were some really good performances today so I get back on the bus to Yorkshire quite happy."

Warne opted to keep the same starting eleven that earned victory over MK dons last time out despite top scorer Kieffer Moore returning from suspension.

And it was a move that paid off for Warne and the Millers, who were backed by close to 1,500 fans who braved treacherous Boxing Day conditions to travel to Lancashire.

"I don't know if people were surprised I didn't have Kieffer in the team or not," added Warne. "But Jerry (Yates) more than deserved to keep his shirt.

"I like to reward excellence and I thought the lads played well in our last home game, so we set up exactly the same."
