A POST office owner is appealing for help from the public to trace vandals who smashed up the cash machine outside his store.

The damage to the ATM outside Sandhill Post Office on Kilnhurst Road happened in the early hours of last Saturday.

Post office proprietor, Amjid Mirza, urged anyone with information about the incident to get in touch with the police.

He said: “I'm deeply saddened by this incident which has resulted in the ATM being out of order this week.

“They smashed the screen and the whole fascia has been pushed in.

“I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope the damage will be repaired by this weekend.

“It is important that if anyone heard or saw anything that they contact the police as this might prevent it happening again.”
