Police thanks after peaceful child abuse demo

Extra officers were on duty as British Muslim Youth and other organisations protested outside the town hall following the child sex abuse scandal.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Officers overseeing the policing of today’s event would like to thank the public and those taking part for their co-operation.

“The demonstration passed peacefully and without any disruption. No arrests were made.”
