Police seek information after assault at petrol station

WITNESSES are being sought to an unprovoked late-night assault at a petrol station in Rotherham.

A 42-year-old Rotherham man was buying fuel from a Masbrough Street garage at 1.30am on Saturday August 14 when he was attacked by another customer.

His attacker attempted to head butt him and threw punches at him before another man joined in the assault.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

The first man is described as white, aged about 20 years with a thin face. He is about 5ft 10in tall with a slim build.

He had very short mousey/blonde hair with a pattern shaved into it and was wearing a t-shirt with a “Henleys” logo on the front.

The second man was of similar age and height but with a stockier build. This man had a distinctive short-back-and-sides style haircut with longer hair on top making a V-shape to the back.

Police have arrested one man who was at the scene in connection with the offence and he is currently on bail.

But neither of the main suspects have been caught.
