Police name motor-cycle crash victim

POLICE have named the 28-year-old motor-cyclist who died following a collision on the A57.

Officers arrested two motorists after they were called to the scene the incident, which involved a silver moped and a BMW car near junction 31 of the M1 at Aston, at around 1am on Sunday.

Today officer revealed that the man killed in the collision was moped rider Wayne Richard Spencer, of Aston.

His 29-year-old woman passenger remains in hospital, but is in a stable condition.

Police arrested a 37-year-old woman on Sunday, suspecting her of causing death by dangerous driving.

She was bailed on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender, after officers arrested a 34-year-old Rotherham man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail, pending further enquiries. Two other people are assisting police with their investigation.
