Police hunt Wombwell owl killers

Police are hunting a group of youths after three barn owls were killed in a raid on a farm.Three boys aged around 13 are believed to have been involved in the killing of the three birds, and the theft of another barn own, from New Hall Farm, Wombwell.

Police are hunting a group of youths after three barn owls were killed in a raid on a farm.

Three boys aged around 13 are believed to have been involved in the killing of the three birds, and the theft of another barn own, from New Hall Farm, Wombwell.

The incident happened at some time between 5pm and 5.30pm on September 24 and the three youths were seen seen in the area on the night of the incident. 

Investigating officers have now issued an appeal for information.

Pc Michelle Herbert said: "This is a pointless crime against four helpless creatures. We are appealing to anyone who might have information on this crime, or has since seen someone in possession of a barn owl, to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
