Police choir celebrates 90th

A MALE voice choir is marking its 90th anniversary with a special celebration concert next month (June).

The South Yorkshire Police Male Voice Choir will be at the Hall Cross Academy Lower School in Bessacarr on June 6.

The choir will be joined by the South Yorkshire Police Band as well as local young soprano Felicity Simpson and BBC Look North presenter Phil Bodmer.

Chief Constable David Crompton has been invited to attend the event.

The oldest member of the choir, 97-year-old Harry Whitnall, will also be present.
