Police appeal for witnesses to serious collision

WITNESSES are being sought to a road collision which left a man with life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened on Saturday evening (June 28) on Broom Lane, Broom, close to the junction with Stag Lane.

A blue Toyota Yaris travelling towards Whiston left the road and was in collision with a lamppost.

A blue Peugeot 307 was also travelling towards Whiston at the same time, around 8.35pm.

Three occupants in the Yaris were taken to hospital, including a 19-year-old man who was treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of the vehicles to call 101 quoting incident number 953 of June 28, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two 20-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury and have been bailed.
