Police appeal after man suffers facial injuries in assault

A MAN was left with minor facial injuries after being assaulted by a group of men in Masbrough.

Now police are appealing for information to try and track them down.

The man was attacked on Sunday, May 28, as he was walking along Midland Road towards the railway bridge at about 12.50am.

The man was approached by a group of men who assaulted him causing minor facial injuries. 

Police officers believe there were three men involved.  

The group also stole the man’s phone and a small amount of cash. 

Two of the men are described as Asian and of medium build.

One is described as in his mid-20s and wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up and a scarf covering the lower half of his face. 

The second man is described as in his late teens, clean-shaven, with black hair and wearing dark clothing. 

There is no description of the third man. 

Detectives are urging anyone with information to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting incident number 65 of May 28.
