AEROSPACE giant Boeing’s plan for a multi-million pound plant in the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District has been granted planning permission.

The manufacturing and research building will create 30 jobs and offer supply chain opportunities to businesses in the area.

The plans, passed by Sheffield Council, are for a site next to the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, which Boeing co-founded over a decade ago.

Sir Nigel Knowles, chairman of Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “This further endorses the region’s credentials as a global centre for innovation-inspired advanced manufacturing.”
