PRESERVATION specialists are uncovering fresh details of Wentworth Woodhouse’s history as they got stuck into the mansion’s £200 million restoration project.

Workers have begun stripping the leaky roof of the south-east wing to make way for thousands of new slates.

New pictures from Historic England show men at work on the roof and give a glimpse at rarely-seen parts of the Big House and its grounds.
