Pensioners killed in crash named as inquest opens

INQUESTS into the deaths of two pensioners who died after the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry will be opened today.

Kenneth Jennings (77), of Middle Drive, Moorgate, and passenger Peter Vincent Teather (68) of Chaucer Road, Herringthorpe, both died in the crash last Thursday.

The inquests into their deaths will be opened and adjourned today by assistant coroner for South Yorkshire, Mrs Louise Slater, at Barnsley Coroners’ Court.

Mr Jennings was driving a white Lexus CT 200  when it was in collision with a white DAF lorry at the junction of Lee Lane and Whams Road, in the Crow Edge area of Barnsley, at around 10.25am.
