Pensioner injured in serious collision in Maltby

AN ELDERLY woman was one of two people who suffered serious injuries on a road collision in Maltby on Wednesday (July 2).

A white Citroen Picasso driven by a 38-year-old man from Maltby was in collision with a a silver Honda Jazz, being driven by a 70-year-old woman from Tickhill.

The incident happened on the A631 Tickhill Road, close to the junction with Scotch Spring Lane, at about 3.30pm.

According to South Yorkshire Police, the pensioner suffered injuries including a broken pelvis and broken ribs, while the Picasso driver suffered a broken ankle. Both were taken to hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 691 of July 2, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
